I'm glad you immediately remarked on the very Joker-y performance of Alpha. That was the first thing that came to mind for me when it originally aired. Years later you would get to do the character in an animated role. Still would've loved to have seen him do it in live action.

Such a great episode. The opening part is so fascinating. It's another reason to bemoan its early demise. The concept of someone spending their entire fortune on repeat engagements is something that could've taken up an entire episode. Someone with every conceivable resource chasing that feeling of love. The world that was created here within the show is a storytelling engine. There were many different types of very stories that could be told depending on the type of engagement. What they said about human nature & our instinctual needs.
