Interesting info, those 3 men who went into the water to help drain it survived, 2 of them are still alive to this day, though one died of a heart attack in 2005, they were all awarded the Order For Courage by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in 2018 for their efforts in the disaster, one awarded posthumously and the other two survivors in person. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko during the ceremony noted how all 3 men had largely been forgotten quickly during the disaster, the Soviet News Agency still hiding many of the details of the Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster, at the time it had been claimed all 3 men died and had been buried in 3 zinc coffins, there was a lot of misinformation to control the narrative at the time.

God, I can’t imagine what it fully looked like. Just watched the next episode.. wasn’t my favorite!

Agreed. I think her emotions were so high that common sense was thrown out the door and understandably so. And though the nurse probably didn’t know the full extent, she should’ve denied the wife entry after she learned that she didn’t leave after 30 minutes because she at least knew exposure was bad. But again, I try to remember that everyone’s emotions were probably high at that point

I feel like if someone actually explained to the wife what radiation sickness is and how it could affect her, she probably would have been much more reasonable, but i highly doubt even most doctors at this point were that trained in radiation sickness and contamination.

Apparently, they actually TONED DOWN the radiation effects to what they would look like in real life, which, considering how awful they looked in the show already, is horrifying... Also, I think that was just his leg, but I agree it looked a little weird. Steel yourself for the next episode.... It's a doozy.

I don't think this is a thing but imagine if each prosthetic penis was listed in the credits as an actor... I'd sign a petition for that

gonna get weird here but who cares, fun fact: most penises (not all, but most) you see on screen are prosthetics, fx companies make them so the actors don't have to reveal it all if they don't want - and sometimes you just need a flaccid penis that won't become erect ever, even by accident. no idea about this ep in particular tho, they usually don't put that in the credits or anything
