Mushrooms. Seriously, certain mushrooms can be used to make a pretty good analog of leather. And I don't know if Kadath has said if his world has non-sapient animals in it, and if they could be used for meat and leather. I know of another furry world in which there are plenty of non-sapient lizards and such that are used as meat animals.
