I tried to make them squished in such a pose x3 but yeah maybe that shading made them look bigger than they should be, too

Yeah. I guess it wouldn't be impossible for her to develop like that. Just stands out a bit as I thought she had smaller breasts to present a less sexualised design.

I've been wondering that too. One of the things about hand drawn characters is that their bodies tend to shift between drawings. Artists are human so a little shift is natural, but I've noticed that some characters slowly evolve, sometimes their most notable characteristics get exaggerated. That can get a bit weird at time, see Kagarimachi ame's Nekotsuki Kohime for details.
