Going slightly above or below your max nits wouldn't make any noticeable difference, but usually it's better to go a bit above in HDR and not below so, yeah, you can try 850 in HGIG for any game in your case

For start i want to congratulate you for your dedication regarding hdr gaming and accurate settings. One wuestion that bugs me is that HGIG sets white point on 850 on my lg oled C3 on ps5 but i know from rtings that it has 820 peak brightness. Now in games like cyberpunk do i set this to 800 nits or 850? I will appreciate any help

Hello. I do have a strange problem. Sometimes, after starting the game, I get haze/fog and washed out colours and I need to restart the game few times until I get rid of it. I do not change any settings when restarting the game. I use FMM, VRR, ALLM, HGiG and HDR settings are 850, 0, 25, 1.0. I did setup everything according to the guides (both LG C3 and PS5). I run balanced mode with fps cap. I can also reduce this effect without restarting by setting Black Stabilizer to 4. Does anyone have a clue what could it be? Thanks. Update: I see the fog in Ravenclaw dorm, fast travel and come back, and the fog is gone. Some time later, after the cutscene, the fog is back.

Understood, thank you for your reply!

That's why you're seeing worse colors and luminance. Try using HDR FMM as suggested coupled with ALLM and VRR. If you still feel a difference in latency try also forcing HGIG on top of FMM preset using Color Control app via PC, this will further reduce latency which would be basically indistinguishable from Game Optimizer preset but with a much better picture quality. FTDA should always be set to -4 Just remember to set Peak HDR Luminance to 1.500 nits when using HGIG

Antonio R

I cant use HDR FMM + ALLM because I still feel the input lag. I was tweaking the game optimiser setting named Game Black Level and it does make a difference, perhaps can you suggest a “optimal” level for that setting ?

P40L0

Are you using HDR FMM preset with all suggested settings both for TV, console and game? It shouldn't be washed out.

Antonio R

Hello, is it just the game or its something wrong with my setup, i’m playing on G3 with DTM On and the colours seems to be washed out and outside is hazi.

P40L0

It depends what you prefer most based on your room. For a dark room try HGIG, for a dim or bright room try DTM.

VICTOR COIMBRA

Hello, should I disable HGIG and keep dynamic tone enabled?

P40L0

Yes

ttheo1983

what about FTDA in an lg c2? should be always -5 with vrr?? i play with HGIG

NoNameUser

Is it normal to have a shimmer/almost heat haze looking effect around characters in cutscenes?

P40L0

It should revert to PS5 values, but to be sure set HDR White Point to 800 or 850 nits (for HGIG) or 4.000 nits (for DTM), HDR Black Point 0, HDR Brightness 25 and User Interface Brightness to 1.0

i have my ps5's HDR settings adjusted as you've advised, but i subsequently tweaked the in-game settings and don't remember what they were before -- will the in-game 'return to default' option bring me back to the ps5-adjusted one or the game's default?

SinthAP

Another great tip for anyone following the bonus suggestions is to turn Camera Acceleration, Aiming Acceleration and Follow Camera Speed all down to 0 and up for sensitivity (I have mine maxed at 2) It really makes the game feel much better by removing that little bit of lag from the acceleration

alessandro martinelli

ok done thanks

P40L0

Hi! Defaults are ok (once you've already properly setup the system HDR Calibration app) but you can still tweak in-Game Brightness and Interface to your likings like the image if you prefer it.

alessandro martinelli

hello dear I copy the settings from your photo or leave everything in default?
