I get the feeling Augustus was never asking Mike in the first place with behaviour like this. Yes he asked.... but I think he expected Mike to just agree. That last line of his about 'hanging out' doesn't seem like he had any expectation Mike might not agree. That being said I do agree that Mike went against what he said.... like immediatly. That's all he did and it's cause he wasn't willing to tell Augustus that it's a public space and that he and Lucy can sit literally anywhere, but Mike wants to actually practice with his friends in the place you're suppose to practice. Not to mention Mike is just doing what he wants to do, not purposely antagonizing Lucy. Meanwhile, Augstus is purposely antagonizing him. Augustus better back off, I really hope Lucy shows up and tells him to stop fighting her battles without her consent.

The added irony is that Auggy has specifically gone up to Mike to deliberately make him uncomfortable, which Mike didn't do

Yeah I get annoyed that everyone seems to forget Lucy wasn't that nice to Mike and despite he nicely setting boundaries she kept trying to force her feelings on him. She waited until he moved on to return his feelings then got upset he wouldn't dump his new relationship for her.

I'm getting more convinced Aug doesn't actually know the full history of Mike and Lucy. His movie comparison doesn't line up with reality in any way Mike never pushed Lucy to the brim Lucy pushed Mike to the brim with her abusive behaviour which caused him to lash out once, and not even a week later he already was trying to apologise for it. It's insane how much guilt is being shoved into Mike for losing his cool against someone who mistreated him for years once

With a much better tone or approach, even suggesting the movie to mike could have actually been a good way for Mike to start doing some perspective taking. But yeahhhh Augustus doesn't care about whether or not Mike actually gets better. It feels more like he wants Mike to hurt as much as Lucy, which helps no one.

While I agree that Mike needs to face some sort of accountability for his actions towards Lucy, Augustus is definitely crossing a line here. Mile has already been racked with guilt ever since the incident. He doesn’t need it thrown in his face or to be told “You can’t hang out outside with your friends because I said so.” Lucy is just as free to not hang out outside if the mere sight of Mike being there is enough to make her feel uncomfortable as Augustus stated. He’s crossed the line into straight up bullying and I don’t think Lucy would approve.

Thank god at least one of them stepped up (David noticing but not defending him speaks volumes on how much he doesn't actually care for Mike). I thought the both of them were going to stand around like oblivious idiots for the entire exchange despite Augustus straight up getting up in Mike's face and making visibly recoil in a scared/uncomfortable manner.

It is different though, Mike is just existing outside and not interacting with Lucy. Augustus on the other hand has interjected himself directly into a conversation ans is purposefully interacting.
