Incredible

Nathan Lalli

Joel, Caleb makes me really uncomfortable, way to go making a whole feature length about him, a very nice adjunct to the long streams of gaming. Anyone else but me, had me in the first five minutes, incredible twists and turns. Incredible shots and a soundtrack that added incredible tension. We Have to Leave here together, I totally forgot you were playing both characters, I watched twice. Forget Everything for Awhile, it sticks with me. Such an incredible bond and caring in this weird encounter, AMBER!

Joel Haver

If ya want to screen it at your school to raise money be my guest!

Masi's Marauder

I just now got around to watching this. Absolutely speechless. πŸ’―

Hey, loved the film Joel! I was wondering if I could get your permission to do a showing. I’m trying to raise money for my college acapella group. Thanks for doing what you do, you’re really awesome.

John Evans

Congratulations on successfully following your dreams! I hate to be off-topic here, but I’ve just got to know: the Oscars are on Sunday! Are you going to be making a movie during them again?

T_Rence

I for one feel proud to have partially supported the special effects on this movie. That unexpected **** shot was amazing. XD Theme: We are all searching for the reactions we hope to receive, the rotational archtype theme was really interesting and started to layer nicely towards the end becoming a presence across all the characters. The Theatre melt down scene also a huge highlight , great film collaboration amongst this crew!

Nathan Densley

There are people who say, "Oh, just go out and make a movie. Use your phone and photograph some friends." Every time I hear that I roll my eyes, it's not that easy. Joel makes it look that easy (even though it isn't). Some of his best camera work, and definitely his best directing to date from what I've seen. The long oner negotiation, the meta levels folding in on themselves like origami, and that vfx shot all came together for a great movie - a movie made in a month. Joel, when you talk about this one in more detail, can you mention the script and the process. I assume this script was already in the can before February started. You mostly talk about production, but it would be nice to hear about pre production with this one. Cause even the schedule planning to pull this off would be interesting. Thanks again man.

Tom

It’s crazy to see all these creators that I’ve followed over the years come together in such a well thought out, cinematic film. This was so great, thanks Joel

Hugo Kalm

Wow, this was really great! Thought I would just watch a bit, but ended up watching the whole movie in one sitting. I'm so happy that you're doing this, and are surrounded and supported by so many wonderful people and friend. Many actor friends we've seen in shorts thought-out the years, now really bringing it here πŸ™πŸ₯³πŸŒŸ great job all of you!

Mahatma

I have to know if this is the secret Kevin James King of Queens reboot project or if that is still secret

Rodolfo A

Wonderful This had tension in the right ways, can’t believe it was shot and edited within a month

maria

oh my goodness joel! this was incredible! i cannot wait to hear your commentary on this

Dinny

Great job. The scene with the negotiation was particularly powerful. I'm really excited for more of these films, can't wait

visuals look good. took a quick look before I went to watch Dune - Part 2 on fri. that movie's got a lot going on :) - will have to make this the next new movie I watch. maybe this can be marketed as "the perfect movie to watch to recover from Dune - Part 2" :). congrats on getting this new one out!

The one that stands out the most to me is definitely Mark's. I guess I kinda just wanted to know what happened with both the kidnappers ultimately, as I found their storyline to be the most interesting part of the film.

Nathan Schlenker

I see what you mean, and I found Mark's plotline served us excruciating intrigue and yet the mystique would be ruined if explored further. I think this philosophy applies to every character to various degrees, but Mark's mystery stands out to me. What areas do you think were left hanging?

Tori, Writher #1 Fan

Watched it this morning with my tea, and what started as "I'll just watch the first 10 minutes while I drink a cup" ended up two pots later with me nodding along like "You go girl, live that fantasy that if you just keep putting in increasingly creative efforts to explain it in exactly the right way, you can make a guy truly understand why he sucks and why you're with mustache man now, because just saying what you mean and being who you are requires knowing what you mean and who you are, and also it doesn't work anyway, oh, haha I'm in the credits and I guess life is good now" I didn't read the patreon benefits description so I was delightfully surprised to see "Tori, Writher #1 Fan" listed! Writher is a uh... possibly sentient magic alien weapon from Super Supportive, a wonderful story I support here on Patreon, just in case you're wondering what you've attached to the credits of your film. Looking forward to the commentary!

L'il Louis

good thing it was a leap year, that extra day still makes Feb the shortest month! congrats! can't wait to watch it!

r2grace2

We are going home to watch it immediately πŸ’œ Edit: Wow. Just wow. Sorry that's all I have. In a great way.

Matt H

Just finished it and loved it. The only criticism I have is that I wanted more of certain plot lines because I enjoyed where they could potentially be going so much, but then the film would have ended up being like 3hrs probably lol.

Hunter Hawke

Awe-inspired by your ambition πŸ™ŒπŸ’ͺ🀩🫢

Steve Robertson

Watching this right now! Good thing you had an extra day this month to get this done haha - great work man, loving it so far! Blake is a force

Schuyler

I am so pumped to watch it after work!

David Catmull

Can't wait to watch this tonight! I started a Joel Haver Monthly movie night with my brothers, last months was a wonderful time.
