Hey Kyle, you're right about only being able to immediately grasp a group of at most 6 things *as* 6 things without counting. At least, you're right if Edmund Husserl, an old German mathematician and philosopher (founder of phenomenology, which [to his chagrin] later gave birth to existentialism) was right. Check out his book, Philosophy of Arithmetic, from 1891 if you ever get bored.
