Haley, back again on the PC Build Front. Have you used your Task Manager to see if you have something that's bottle necking? RAM, CPU, GPU? One thing you'll definitely want to use is PC parts picker, that will tell you if the parts you want are compatible. With giant new graphics cards, you'll want to make sure the case is big enough and that it's supported by your motherboard. The motherboard usually only fits certain chips and has so many RAM slots. I definitely want to reiterate that PC Build Simulator is awesome for this. You run a PC repair shop and have to figure out exactly how to troubleshoot PCs as well as make new ones and buy compatible parts. It really made me more comfortable when I built mine.

Someone has probably already mentioned this, but depending on your apartment and how old it is and if it's like, part of a ton of other apartments, Powerline Ethernet adapters might be an option for your Internet? Might be worth trying? It essentially uses your power wiring to route Internet from one location to another just using small plug in adapters. Results can vary depending on a lot of factors, but if you don't want to run a long Ethernet run, it might be worth trying?
