Release of update v0.60

The release of update v0.60 brings around 30k new words of story. On top of that it, it brings about 15 new illustrations.
All the new content is focused around expanding on the soldier-storyline, which picks up shortly after winning the battle for Bagrad. In order to access this new content, simply play the soldier story as per usual and it will pick up where it previously ended.
A small heads up on some changes to the story!
Some of you who have played through the previous content might remember that the side-character of Caleb ends up dying in the story. In the current update, while expanding on the story, I also ended up deciding to alter the previous story by re-writing it in such a way where Caleb does not die.
I've spoken before on the fact that most of my story is plotted out, but even I still end up occasionally realizing that I might take a wrong-turn at times.
The main reasons for retconning was that Caleb/Ephraim's roles in the story filled a particular niche that was otherwise absent. As I continued with the story after writing it, I found myself constantly leaning towards re-creating characters that fulfilled a similar role/niche, essentially making his death complicated.
So instead, I decided to revise the story. The ultimate impact is relatively minor, but I thought I'd mention it, just so some players are not confused by his sudden re-appearance. These kinds of retcons and re-writes are something I want to keep to a minimal, but they are sometimes necessary, and I hope everyone will understand.
Following on that point, I have also had to make some changes to the code itself. I hope that the errors are kept to a minimum, but should you run into any, re-running the game from the start should eliminate essentially all possible errors.
Looking Ahead
So, for now I'll want to release this update and let it breathe for a while. See how people enjoy the new content.
But as per usual, I hope to let you all know by next week what the subject of the next update is going to be about. I am still tinkering on some final decisions, but I feel confident that by next week I'll be able to let you know what the update of September will focus on.

Should you encounter any game-breaking bugs, errors in the story (meeting characters you shouldn't meet, seeing content you don't want/expect, etc), feel free to reach out to me and I'll try and have these resolved. Game breaking issues will be fixed quickly, other changes will feature in the next update.

That's so nice to read, thank you! And yes, music is definitely something I've been looking into. I have an idea for a theme, but I'm looking at possibly working with a musician to work that out (don't have a musical bone in my body haha). It's going to depend on whether that works out, otherwise I'll likely go the route of adding some copyright-free music that fits. I've always wanted to add more sound-design in general, because I think when it's done right it can really elevate the scenes, but sadly that's something that has taken a bit of a backburner because just the story and art is so much to balance already, and I really want to keep a steady pace of new content each month.
OMG Cool!! I was waiting for the update, the game is so addictive that the wait between updates becomes eternal, but even so I am grateful for bringing us new content once a month! Do you plan to add background music to the game in the future? music without copyright of course
