True, I think that back in the day astronomers actually thought that the brighter stars were longer lived. Exactly the opposite of what we know true today

Ah the Nostalgia for Infinity - fantastically enigmatic vehicle. And yes, great to see WITHOUT A THOUGHT covered - I've had the idea of using something like that as a trial-by-error replacement nagication computer for a stranded ship.

I like the idea of matchbox and bead computing. I remember reading that story when I was younger. As for the trading thing, a spectral B3 star has a lifespan in the tens of millions of years. But that wasn't known when this story was written, so I'll give H. Beam a pass on that.
