I love how the picture for the Gradient Field Imploding Liner has a far more realistic ratio of heat radiators.

Well, the way I know that is because I had one of those walking toys when I was a little boy. And I cut off the pronged extensions because they were unaesthetic. I found out the hard way that the prongs were vital to keep the blasted thing from toppling over.

I know exactly what you're talking about! A lot of windup hobbling toys use that same structure. Never gave it much thought until now!

Agreed. I had a little Snoopy wind-up toy that walked. Each foot had two pronged extensions that extended to overlap the other foot. That way it could stand on one foot without toppling over. But of course it looks too dorky for an action movie.

While perusing the Man Amplifier section, I saw Avatar's AMP Suit again. And again, that thing can't walk unless it can shift its center of gravity from one foot to another. I have the toy that they put out and that was the first thing I realize. If it lifts a foot, it will fall over, its "hips" are too wide.
