One about selenomelanin reminded me of a obscure fact about Beowulf Shaeffer. As an albino living under a very bright star, he had to take melanin pills that turn his skin black. Not brown, black. Based on the description, using selenomelanin on folks should turn them tan or a dark shade of brown. There are few folks that would not be happy with that...

The bit about dealing with crime in space reminded me of the premise for the BBC's "Star Cops". A collection of part time "officers" were made full time under international law and supposedly had jurisdiction over all space habitats and ships. (That came to a head in one episode dealing with, surprise, an American space station.) I'd love to see someone try to do this again, though with more private corporate involvement this time.

Yes, it does, doesn't it? I assume they are tilted as a compromise to easy draining of propellant and ease of jettisoning them when empty.
