But that just won't always be possible. This particular page is a transition; It directly references the text in the last, while also being a lead up to the next--and advancing the plot little on it's own, besides the name drop of Selene.
I hope the flow of this comic works right.

It's supposed to be Selene. Omg that's a dumb mistake. Fixed it tho. XD
Sometimes a transition is necessary. Not every single page can shine on its own! It's a continuous story, after all. By the way-- is it Selene, or Selena? Rowan says one thing, you say another. :p
