I believe there's a youtube video out there of Ernie and Bert from Sesame Street talking, with Deniro and Pesci's conversation in the desert dubbed over it.

I like this one, but I always felt I just couldn't stand the whole storyline with Sharon Stone and her sleazy boyfriend. I guess she does a great job playing the character, but she's just so frustrating a person I don't like watching any of it. Ace being so manipulated by her drives me crazy. Not that he's a saint.

One of the news reports even mentions the ".22 (caliber)" assassin.

I think the reason there's not big blood splatter in some of the shooting scenes is because the characters were using small caliber guns. With smaller calibers the bullets don't always go through and through. especially if the bullet hits bone. It either gets stuck or Bounces around inside the body.

Simon Peened Me

The thumbnail threw me for a minute. I thought it was Simone as Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Stuart Sutcliffe

Videos like this make me desperately want Simone and George to watch The Sopranos.

I still see it that way. Yes...it VERY much felt like a Goodfellas knockoff; both written by Nicholas Pileggi, both pairing De Niro + Pesci...both follow organized crime, from its heyday to the eventual downfall. Except...there's TOO much narration, and TOO much music; and JP...a little TOO over the top. Cudos to CB for doing the reaction; it's certainly not a "bad" movie. But to put it alongside Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, The Departed (and whichever others that might be your personal favs. For example...I love The King of Comedy, but people weren't quite ready for cringe-humor yet)...I don't think so.

A couple of years ago Quentin Tarantino was on the YMH podcast and told a funny story about how Don Rickles embarrassed the hell out of him when he visited the set of Casino during production in Vegas. Mind you, this was Tarantino's very first time meeting Martin Scorsese, who is one of his filmmaking idols: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCx67cnQQf8&t=4717s

i live in las vegas and am a member at Las Vegas Country Club, where the FBI plane had to make an emergency landing.. all a true story! there is a replica plane in the pond on the golf course to commemorate the event. There are also plaques with quotes from people who were there that day working and playing at the club that saw the plane go downโ€ฆ i love it, so cool

This was regarded as one of Scorsese's lesser works when first released, but has been re-evaluated since then. it was viewed like a "Goodfellas" knockoff, and people didn't care to look at how it was filmed differently. When it first came out, the film was described by some of the people involved as 80-90% accurate to what really happened. Since then a lot of secret information has been revealed that shows a lot of stuff was left out (For example, both Ace and Ginger were informants for the FBI, but neither knew the other was an informant). The plane thing actually happened, but it was mechanical failure, not because they ran out of gas.

For a split second I thought that was Sharon Stone in the thumbnail. ๐Ÿ‘“

Katzchen1984

This is such a good movie... I really dislike DeNiro and Stone IRL... but they are great actors

Vengeance

Peekaboo you fucks you. Might be my favorite Pesci line.

Perfect thumbnail, 10/10. It would have been 20/10 if it was George, ala "Clueless'.
