This will never win one of your TV polls, but the actress who plays Velma is best in the wonderfully written, wonderfully acted, hilarious and dramatic Dead to Me on Netflix. So good, so worth the time. Very recent too with tons of other actors you might recognize (Christina Applegate, James Marsden).

Feignorance

JP's actor is also known for the Avatar movies

Jacob Colson

Kinda surprised they didn't recognize her. Or even look her up at the end. I mean, she was also a grandma in Christmas Vacation!

Dan Holmes

Watch Freaks and Geeks for more Velma please!

Estelle’s dada jesse

I still to this day yell “you’re a hooker“ whenever I think it fits. Lives rent free in my head.

Bella Blue

I personally have always hated this...saw it once in the theater and not a good time...but some do love it...to each their own... but my mind just goes to the dark place of...we could have had Bottoms or we could have had Booksmart...etc etc.. shrugs

Adam Vialpando

I occasionally talk in a robot voice just like this.

Adam Vialpando

But what if it's boiled? This is purely hypothetical.

Andrew Hitchcock

Nothing happens if you drink weed like that. You need to burn/bake it first to activate the THC and bind it to a fat like butter. It's why you can't just eat weed.

Charles

Thanks for watching this one! It is one of my favorite comedies

TalynOne

Time for the clip when Nick Swardson's actual grandma saw this movie : https://www.youtube.com/shorts/r9UcMFioXNY

Apparently they didn’t bother to put out a Blu-ray of it, only a DVD. I’d never even heard of it before it showed up on here. Then again, 2002-2010 or so just kind of flew by for me. I barely remember what was going on then.

Christina Doxstader

This movie should have done much better in the theater but the studio dropped the ball hard on the marketing.

Jef Etters

I’m bummed. I’ve always heard this was great and I just watched close to the first half. I love Linda Cardellini from Freaks and Geeks, and Swardson too, but man, I’m sorry, Sandler’s buddys just aren’t doing it for me. And the main guy is really off putting. I wish I could hang, I feel left out but yuck.

Dave Jacob

Not ashamed to say this is one of my favorite movies. It’s so funny beginning to end and I still quote lines from this movie all the time. High score!? What does that mean ? Did I break it?

Jef Etters

I would pay extra $$$ to see them do Freaks and Geeks. It is so good it hurts me that reactors don’t seem to do it.

Adam Custer

The guy who plays JP plays basically the same character but a good guy in Dodgeball.

Justin Bulkley

My name is JP. I am a robot, I have a robot vagina. (I've been waiting on this one)

Jeff K

I also completely forgot that Linda Cardellini was in this (I haven't seen this movie since it first came out). If you ever need a short series, could not more highly recommend the one season Judd Apatow masterpiece Freaks and Geeks, which was Cardellini's big breakout role (not to mention it launched the careers of Seth Rogen, Jason Segel, James Franco, Martin Starr, and John Francis Daley among others - although John Francis Daley has basically moved on from acting to focus on writing and directing. He's one of the writers of Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, which he also directed; Spider-Man: Homecoming; Horrible Bosses; and he directed and is an uncredited writer for Game Night, among others).

Jeff K

The Dumb and Dumber and Anchorman sequels were pretty terrible, but I will say that I liked Happy Gilmore 2 a lot more than I expected.

BangDroid

Bea is the Mister Mister lady in Happy Gilmore!

BangDroid

Grandma is Doris Roberts who plays Marie in Everybody Loves Raymond

Jeff K

George, since you mentioned not knowing who the actor who plays JP is, you've actually seen him on the channel before: he was one of the Average Joe's guys in Dodgeball. This movie is pretty much literally an Adam Sandler movie that just doesn't have Adam Sandler in it, since it was made by his production company and basically all of the guys in it are his buddies that he puts in all of his movies. The lead in this, Allen Covert, is someone you've seen a few times, including recently. If you didn't happen to recognize him, he was the limo driver best friend in Wedding Singer, and Happy Gilmore's caddy (in both movies). Also: Jeff is played by Nick Swardson, who you might remember as the creepy stalker fan of Jon Heder's character in Blades of Glory.

Ricky Patton

OMG YES! I'm so excited for this one.

Such a great comedy! Like all great comedies, it's even better when rewatching it! This movie, Dodgeball, Anchorman, Dumb and Dumber, Ted 1/2, etc. are all just as good, if not better the more you watch them. You catch jokes that you might have missed on the first run and you just tend to appreciate the humor more. That's why comedy sequels bug me. They are rarely as good as the first (Ted 2 and 22 Jump Street being a couple of the VERY few exceptions to that rule) and are usually quite bad. Like, why did they ever think making another Dumb and Dumber, Happy Gilmore, or Anchorman was a good idea?

Life is good on a Thursday!
