I love everything about this movie. The dry homor, the awkwardness, the fantastic music, and the performances. Fun fact: I went to high school with the woman in the back brace (Jenna Elfman.)

Being John Malkovich is amazing. Totally unique and bonkers.

You guys should definitely watch 'Being John Malkovich' soon... I'd say probably one of my favourite John Cusack performances! Side note: has Simone already watched 'The Royal Tenenbaums'? Because thatโs definitely a portrait of Margot Tenenbaum in the background. Itโd be great if you guys returned to some Wes Anderson, as itโs been quite a while!

George, you said the same thing about that actor (Michael Cudlitz) looking like Sean Astin in Band of Brothers! He played Sergeant Randleman aka "the Bull". What is funny is Simone disagreed with you multiple times back then that he looks like Sean Astin and this time she agreed straight away!

I've always loved this movie. (I'm from the class of '81, so the music was the soundtrack of my youth.) Your reaction was perfect! A different reactor (I forget which one) didn't like it because they apparently were expecting it to be like "Pulp Fiction". That's a great movie, yes, but this is basically a romantic comedy with some gunplay in the background. It's not trying to be "Pulp Fiction". It's like complaining that an apple doesn't taste like an orange. Incidentally, I've noticed that your reactions seemed to be happening just a fraction of a second early. I was doing the watch-along with my own copy of the movie (so I can adjust the volume), and the video seemed to exactly match your video. However, when something funny or shocking would happen, your laughter or shocked expression seemed to happen at exactly the same instant. I ended up pausing your video for a fraction of a second, then unpaused so that the timing of your reactions seemed more natural. Perhaps you just have lightning quick reflexes. :-)

Yeah, all of the Cusack siblings are actors as was their dad. Their mom, passed in 2022 and she was an incredible woman. A mathematics professor, athlete as well as a political and social activist for civil rights, women's rights and nuclear disarmament.
