I think what I was going for was for Carmen and Trevor to respect Noelle's wishes to redeem herself without disclosing to Evantra that she had sold her apartment to pay for her treatment. She wanted to make up for it in a more organic way and to become her friend (thus the reason for the miscom). Definitely a more naive and idealistic move on Noelle's part, but truer to her character - but I dislike miscommunication for miscommunication's sake, so that was the logic here! My bad! It was actually 37 that I wanted you to read up to xD (now you're forced to read another hahaha). Ben is East Asian and Kugan is Indian (just to avoid any confusion) - no big brain deceptions in that regard!

Damn, Noelle is the perfect kind of smart that Evantra needed right now. I kind of expected her parents to be really rich, but maybe not to the extent of being an heir ; I mean, in this borderline apocalyptic world, how easy can it be to go from Europe to Wisptown and cross the Atlantic ? She did it on a whim with no real plans... Kinda screams silver spoon. Also she had funky hair and eye color lol So, I finally reached the chapter you recommended I read after chapter 30 and honestly at this point I've cooled down anyway it was the point of the rant lol. I still think that communication in general would have made things better, and that Carmen's decision was out of line. Given Evantra's transactional view of relationships, I really believe that being upfront about selling her house to pay for her medical fees could have been well-received ; it's big evidence that Noelle's making sincere efforts to change (would have been best if she wasn't a conglomerate heir, it kinda devalues the sacrifice even if I assume she doesn't have access to that wealth on account of having run away) and it also gives proper justification to let her live at Evantra's place. But lack of communication is the final boss of IRL drama and fictional plots, it's everywhere since forever so it's to be expected. It's the same for her regrets about Millie and for her relationship with her mother for example. No one's safe from it tbh. Last but not least : is Benjamin Kugan ? What a coincidence. He's the goat in any case. The wisest. Thanks for the chapter

Excellent suggestion! I've taken it on :) (with the point re 'totally overpowered'). Also a great way to show Noelle's ignorance with some subtext :D That some absolutely horrifying with the deer... Hope the build-up to the beginnings of their reconciliation was satisfying :)

Noelle is such a champ, even if she sometimes ends up being as smooth as sandblasting media. I feel like I should've taken on a [Staggered] status effect when she just out and said "You're broken" Might flow better with a shift in the following phrase to 'totally overpowered!', in accordance with someone who is rephrasing for clarity while paying zero attention to any unaddressed implications the original statement made. Also w/ the escalation of intent and tone shift of the convo from Eva's gloominess. -- Poor Eva too adept at sidestepping emotions/attachment earlier in the convo looking to me like she's *trying* to acknowledge the effort Noelle put in to not be such a coward/wimp, but ends up seeming like more of an accusation than anything. Love that horrifying description of out-healing both Rot and Fire DoT. I remember a time in my youth someone set a mid-decay deer on fire to "make it go away faster" or something equally absurd...deeply unpleasant doesnt even come close to describing the experience of having to put the fire out. Noelle's expression when she walked up for the last stim injection makes a lot more sense with that recollection. Also!!! WOO! Gang's back together kinda sorta! Hard to fix that sort of brittleness all at once without breaking, but sharp and prickly has its own appeal.
