She did end up doing a few scav raids in heywood, most notably the one where she was stacked up on the door before an unfortunately timed phone call pulled her away to (i think) attend the meeting with brick in fujimuras bar - though i'd remind you the initial meeting with padre was less taking on a gig to hit a specific den and more padre just giving her the info on all the local dens because he wouldn't mind if they were removed.

I do love this story. You do such a good job of showing Motoko just having fun and doing her thing, then the rare contrasting POV where we get to see what she looks like to other people. It's great.

She’s making a lot more money than game V by stripping locations down to the bolts and you could get quite wealthy as high level game V. I feel like she ought to be able to afford regularly eating real food, no?

So, ehm, how did she survive the fall? I kinda thought that she rode the guy down a roof and jumped off him before he went over, but apparently she went all the way? How high was it? Did rolling off really help that much? ... OH! She got the half damage from height perk! Forgot about it! ... wait... does that mean that a fall with terminal velocity would only be as damaging as with half of terminal velocity? Damn... if she ever gets some chrome that allows to survive a fall with half of terminal velocity, she can nearly ignore heights. O.o (Maybe even with some expandable foam grenades or something; lots of examples in video games)

I absolutely love the POV shifts, getting that outsider perspective on Motoko. Realising how just bat shit insane she actually is. While I like the music, I love that the story is shifting back to the violence that it started with. It's been a while since we've seen Vik, V, or Jackie. I wonder how V is handling that spy outpost

Lot of things could have also changed. Let’s face it the timeline is all over the place. The Maelstrom that originally killed David’s Mom could be dead. Our girl Motoko has a pretty solid body count. Edit. Yes it was the Animals, not sure where I got Maelstrom from. But as others have said still probably butterflied away.

I mean she's got the militech job on the horizon, the rich people scouting that was just suggested, the clusterfuck that is 2076, Bartemoss' cyberdeck, to name a few, and she's definitely going to have to squeeze in time to kill some more scavs, kill some music producers, and spend time maintaining her relationships with the Tygers, Wakako, Maine's Crew, Jackie and V, the Netrunners, the Nomads, etc.; Like our girl is ridiculously connected, but that sort of thing takes maintenance, as we saw in this chapter.

Getting a job in night city usually involves something like: selling your left arm to a corpo so you could do the work, getting one that stops working after three months, then getting sued for damages. Finally you have to quit your job because you can't pay the interest on the left arm you sold because the work is not paying enough.

It was more noticieable in the previous gitc chapter. We had goody-two-shoes Dorah aiming to be a greatest hero and defender of weak. And then we have Motoko. She surfs a dude from a building and her preffered way of dealing with problems is murder. I've missed her dearly. Enjoying both fics though

Great chapter as always very very enjoyable. Maybe Motoko MSM music connection to bite some biotechnica genetically engineered pets maybe some cyber dogs dogs with cyberware or some cats or maybe if she purchase a building a cybernetically enhanced bare as personal security she's becoming wealthy and she might want some pet for emotional support for her support news and for fun. I know I feel better after spending some time with my pet. And Seras your break was a benefit for you you're really capturing the essence of cyberpunk in my opinion the break was needed and it was extremely beneficial for your writing for the past two chapters they've been excellent. I cannot wait for the next chapter and have a great day.

Hell the fuck yeah. Motoko once again is a badass, without losing the narrative fact that she is a somewhat immature teenager very unused to being imposed upon by the systems that be. And I wonder if that will cultivate some genuine rebellion. It would be awesome if Motoko running up against the horrors of the corps first hand in showbiz will be the tinder for her spark, and for that to show up in her music. I think the break from GitC did you good Seras because these last two chapters have really nailed *cyberpunk*.
