I enjoy your writing as is, you do you!! With that said lets get to the important stuff, my own opinion. ;P I feel that too many stories go the other way with a male bias or with the females as attachments. I love your strong female characters it is one of the things that initially caught my attention.

True... Down with Male bias! :P

There are So MaNy stories with a male bias. If they want to read about guys, go let them read 90% of the rest of the non romance genres. Let us keep Amy and the rest. Besides. You do have far more male characters than those stories have female.

Good to know! Thanks for the support!

Thanks for the input, appreciate it!

Horray!

Shannon Livingston

Will do!

Male—Female. It's all bodies to throw at the blender that is a global level extinction. Keep on as you are Wombat. Nothing wrong with a bias, it only gets wrong when they are penalized for their gender rather than individual basis.

Honestly I don’t care about the male female ratio of characters, SCS is a lesbian story. If you do add more male characters, I want them as expendable side characters you don’t make us care about before killing them off or dumping them. Authors need to write the characters authors are comfortable with and I’m extremely happy you are asking. And that ending is why you need to be there in person and why the bots having AIs of their own is important. Also Teddy can’t get protector medical or other supplies to those who need help from a distance without it costing even more in points. Truly looking forward to what the plants have done this time and how Teddy will handle it.

Personally I prefer Amy as a woman, though that might just be because that’s how she is now and changing after the fact feels weird. I don’t really care much about the gender imbalance, but if you’re concerned about it one thing you could do is consciously think about it when you need to add more characters. For example, as part of character creation thinking through “Is gender identity an important part of this character’s characterization?” “If not, how will making them male (or female) affect their interactions with other characters? Is that difference a positive or negative change?”. Basically, rather than just deciding that new characters will be male to meet an imaginary quota, I would recommend giving a bit more thought to the question during character creation so that you don’t go with your apparent default of female as often.

Re Gender: While you have a slight bias toward female MCs, if it sparks your muse we really cannot complain. What’s important is you seem to treat both genders equally and that’s the critical issue in my mind. I’ve read otherwise excellent authors who write with the ‘Woman Good/Men Bad’ bias. So stay the course!
