Full disclosure: I haven't done one of those in a good while (I've largely replaced those by one-panel comics done by Navarro/Cabrera), but I'm still damn proud of these collaborations. Hope you enjoy them too.
NOW THAT I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION...
I realize that a few days ago, I made a post to engage with free members (you, yes, YOU!) but didn't realize something in my settings didn't allow you to respond to my post. I'm very sorry about that. So while you're here, can we try that again? Here's what I posted:
Recently (a few months ago?), Patreon introduced something called a free membership, which is somewhat of a misrepresentation. This was done for reasons passing understanding and somewhat shoddily. While they call it a membership, it really isn’t. There is no way to cater content directly to you nor to engage with you as a regular audience of backers. What a free membership does is give you access to posts that are marked “public” when we post them—which, for me, is hardly ever. Like most creators, my efforts are centered around the backers with paid membership. It would be unfair to them to deliver the same content to you, and Patreon doesn’t empower us to deliver content ONLY to you. (If they did, I’d love to share some very old content with you, but if I do so now, I’m also spamming my backers who have already received that content; like I said, shoddy implementation.)
So out of curiosity, what are your expectations from a free membership? Other than the calendar of activities and occasional news post that I deliver, is there something else you’d like to see delivered to free members? (Bearing in mind the limitations I’ve outlined above.)

I think there was an incorrect setting in my profile. By default, followers/free members couldn't comment on posts; that was reserved for paying members only. That's why nobody responded to my original post. Once I fixed that, I think you were able to post your response.

As a free member, I was not able to reply to this post. not sure if that got fixed between then and now. But yes, the free member thing is shite as a "follower" I was still able to see "public post" and that allowed me to follow at a distance with no perks. which is fine, when my budget doesn't extend that far month to month.

I use it to stay up to date and honestly it helps so I don't forget to check out some of my fav content creators. I also use it to remember to donate when I have some extra income.

Yeah, that's perfectly fine. I do this with streaming channels all the time, that's a perfectly legit way to consume content.

Yes, I also added you to keep in the list to maybe subscribe if I get the money, and on that subject how do you feel on someone subscribing only for a few months and then bail?

Mostly just to stay up to date on new stuff, and to keep you highlighted so if I do get the money to throw at artists on a monthly basis, I know where to look.
