I'm Surviving...
🕑 Added 2024-07-06 00:15:39 +0000 UTCIt's been a few days without posts and I think I need to come clean about something going on in my personal life (nothing sad or sinister, don't worry) that's been eating a fair chunk of my time.
I'm a HUGE Survivor fan. You know, the reality show? Yeah, that. I've been watching that show since it first aired, and I've been a huge fan ever since. I remember at the time thinking "Hey, if this ever comes to my province, I'm doing it."
A year ago, they finally started showing Survivor in Quebec (Canada). To my knowledge, it was the first ever Survivor show in Canada, and I watched it like a ravenous freak. After Season 1, I wanted to apply, but I didn't have the time or energy for it. This year, as I watched Season 2 (which ended 2-3 weeks ago), I knew it was time to get off my ass and make some decisions if I wanted to be serious about it.
So now I'm up every day at 5 AM to go train (weights, cardio, yoga) before I go to work, I watch what I eat, I'm taking swimming lessons, and I even got a former participant to coach me on how to make it to (and through) the audition process.
All of this, it turns out, is a HUGE time and energy drain, and with a huge backlog of work and commissions, I have to admit I've been struggling to make the posts here on time. To make matters worse, I've had a continuous stream of visitors from out of town who stayed at my place, reducing further my ability to work on my Bloomin' Faeries! content.
Don't worry, though, all the rewards will get delivered, I just need to get over a little hump in the next couple of days and things should return to normal.
Anyway, hopefully that puts to rest any concern you had about my situation (or even my health). Things are good. I'm building muscle and losing fat and getting back in shape, so it's all very, very positive.
(And yes, I can now make fire with a flint and steel.)

It's my experience that good health is half luck, half endeavor. I have little to no control over my genetics, but I'm getting to the age where I have to decide what my senior years will look like. I'm going to stack the odds in my favor. π€

Ha ha! No, not at all. I keep my _actual_ personal life very separate from the BFverse, and I'm not sure anyone would enjoy a Survivor & Faeries story. I'm not sure I'd even know how to tell such a story. To me, Survivor isn't really sexy, it's really in a completely separate category. I don't know if I'd want to mix the two, even if I knew how.
