Season 2 was greenlit before the Season 1 premiere. They are already close to finishing filming Season 2. Henry's first letter is to the newspapers. Letter writing is a lost art. Just so you know, Diana is writing a 3 book prequel about Jamie's parents. Claire's parents' story is all the show runners. In Diana's story. Claire's parents died in a car accident when she was 5 years old. They never time travel. As Diana says, the books are the books and the show is the show. The show diverges from the books starting halfway through season 1.
