π Learned quite a bit from this
Jas McHugh
The bass fx chain is one of the most insane I have ever seen π΅βπ«
Andy Pletch
bro what are the specs on that computer lmao
Garrett Davenport
If this is "not to many tracks" or "less is more", I can't even imagine what a project that you would say has a lot going on looks like.
Poelyte
Thank you for deconstructing this.. My favorite track to date to Flow and vibe too.
BOLUS
agreed, Cobalt is insane
rafael
It would be epic to have a breakdown of 7th dimension or sly fox
DB
super helpful, thanks for this!
Stuart Anthony
Would be really cool to see how you guys go about making drums groove so well. Songs like infinite funk and chilli daddy have so much bounce with all the little ghost notes and cut up breaks, would be interesting how you arrange drums like this!
Mike
Would absolutely love a Virtual Light breakdown at some point in the future. That one is pure ear candy.
KOAN Sound
Good idea, thanks!
Edwin Kwok
Amazing deconstruction! clear and detailed! I would recommend giving some section playback preview at the beginning when jumping to different musical sections like drums to ambient sections for a clear contrast!
KOAN Sound
All by hand :)
MACHINA
My mind was blown away when I saw that Bass Rack with the automations.
Jimmy Blythe
It seems you two do a lot of filter & volume automation. Are you doing these all by hand or using some sort of midi controller to play in the movement at times?
Eric Camarillo
thank you for this video!! i'd love to see Hydroplane or Drift :)
Rem Atmos
I would also like to know lol
TJ Ghinder
You guys are brilliant! There's too much I want to say about this video--thanks for the breakdown.
Ground Unit
Yeah! More of this stuff - this is great! :D
ibdnbl
This is awesome... Sick project! Quick question: you guys didn't use stereo panning in this track, any other reasons on that?
Shrug
Would love to know the specs on your computer to run ALL that without crashing lol
es
Really great video! Thanks for the upload! Will I be able to see the Sanctuary ep songs on stems or Track Deconstruction in the future? (It would be difficult since it was released 7 years ago and is a collaborative album.)
KOAN Sound
It's similar yeah but a bit more processed. We did the same thing as in that tutorial except instead of starting with an operator in ableton, we played a long note on a hardware synth (prophet 6) with some saws detuning. We recorded that in ableton and applied some distortion to fatten then resampled to put in the sampler.
Yip Kwan
Really Want to see how Cobalt look like in the project file
Kimble
:)
Shrug
So sick!! Much love fellas <3
Isaac Liekens
Less is more you say Jim? HAVE YOU SEEN YOUR PROJECT!?!? Great stuff, way to much to proces :D Thank you <3
Hoko
This has made me so happy taking a peek at this, it's just amazing thank you so much <3
Glazork
Thank you guys ! Always been wondering about the way you've made that crazy "metric modulation"... Now I know the thing behind it :)
Sanial McCormick
This to me stands out there at the top of everything that you guys have created. Thanks.
Dan Wright
Awesome break down! Quick question - that warping reesey bass you make through all of the automation etc - in the sampler (before all the post processing), is it the same basic reese bass as in your previous tutorial showing your methods of bass design?
Ben Bagley
insane guys thank you
Griffin Hall
y'all are insane. thank you for this.
Eystein Askevold
Thank you for this. :). Always wanted to see how a KOAN sound track looks like.
Artem Andriyanov
