I really loved Whiskeytown but similarily to Kozelek post-metoo I couldn't stand any of it anymore. Not even really out of some moral high ground (still have the Swans records) but the self-pity I could relate with before just seems a little different now. Dunno.

on the topic of video game soundtracks: last night I was in a notoriously shitty 7/11 and the guy behind the counter was playing music in-comprehensively loud. guy ahead of me in line was drunk and boppin to it, and said: ‘hey brother this shit slaps, I tried to Shazam it but nothing came up’ and he was listening to the general area music from animal crossing on repeat
