I developed baaad dyscalculia around middle school when I started having seizures (I had to take Algebra II 3 years in a row). I struggled with percussion because of it. I'm able to think of numbers in the immediate sense, like basic fractions or multiplication, but *keeping track* of numbers, let alone an equation, is next to impossible. I lose count after like 4 or 5 and then numbers lose meaning and turn into TV static. Taking amphetamines wes the first time I was ever able to do a math equation in my head. It was a wild experience. Like "this is what it's like to do math?! this is so cool!" - I've been jealous of mathematicians my whole life.

I literally have moderate dyscalculia and play music, it has no effect on my ability to count (music or otherwise)- I play bass just like Mr. Clayton. It’s basically just number specific dyslexia - I can read just fine but numbers and math are a jumble for me. Musically- the only thing it’s ever done is it makes tabs kinda a pain to ass to read especially those old school poorly formatted ones. Sheet music ain’t bad though.
