Ah, Dylan, I'm so sorry that happened to you. I had an interesting conversation with my priest yesterday about the chaos that social media has the potential to cause in my life along with all the pros. He put it so well... 'handle with oven mitts'.

I get it completely. I'd struggled to get in front of a camera for years despite always making content behind it. One day I took a chance and tried to do a more "algorithm friendly" video where I tried to laugh at some old bad songs I made. Unlike most of my content, I actually got a single comment that time: some guy who literally just said "you suck." That was it. The video went down, I questioned whether I was just waiting my time, and two words ate at me for a lot longer than I thought possible. For all I know it was some eight-year-old taking a break from minecraft. The internet brings out the worst in a lot of people because there's no consequences for their actions that directly translate to their real lives. It's easy to spit in someone's virtual face and just go about your "real" day. And it's unavoidable. There's a lot of philosophical thoughts to unpack about human nature that come with that, but I now take solace in the fact that my actions are always under my control. I can never change anybody else no matter how much I wish they'd just all be decent people. You are doing amazing things with your music. You inspire so many people to do the same with their own dreams. That means something in a world of apathy and vitriol.
