Pink Floyd ... With a glass harmonica
🕑 Added 2019-08-22 10:55:00 +0000 UTCSo what Pink Floyd was playing in Venice Italy they stumbled across a street performer who's playing what I think it's called the glass harmonica. it's wine glasses with wet lips that are tuned so you can play complicated music on it. They got them on stage the next day. It amused me.
Here's some more links to people cell phone cams the concert.

it's almost as weird as Frank Black from the pixies being called on stage to play with Arlo Guthrie. Mind you that happened, and it was in Tallahassee.

If someone who sets up in front of Independence Hall with one. I'm assuming they don't use lead currently. And you're right I meant Frank Black. Let me fix that.
Ben Franklin invented the glass armonica (same idea, but with the glasses on their sides, spun by a foot treadle, and spelled without the H at the beginning. ) Armonicas were painted with lead paint to help differentiate the notes, but mix of water and lead paint made the players feel all kinds of weird. Being the late 1700s, the sound the instrument produced was blamed rather than lead poisoning. There's an original Franklin armonica in Philly. (Also, I think you might mean Frank Black from The Pixies and not Jack Black.)
