Ok it was just the way Aya was looking that made me question it. But if they only have about a one to discuss stuff. That could be quite risky because Aya wants an answer to a heavy and complex question.

I doubt it. They’ve been holding their breath (at this point) for five minutes tops. Though, for as good as they are, it’s surprising Aya would be this cavalier with both of their oxygen (since she clearly expects a verbal answer back), and Chihaya is just as startled. I’m guessing the plan is to complete their swim in four minutes, giving them both a budget of at least a minute of air to talk. That’d end up as a nine minute dive that due to the extra consumption would feel like 10 minutes, since they’ve both expressed their ability to go that long. This is also the first time that they’ve truly “talked” underwater since at least meeting Saki in the Simmons wreck, by my memory. Everything else could probably be chalked up to hand signs, gestures, and lip movements.
