Oh I see. As a Priestess Saki has real power and must avoid using them in everyday life, moreover according to what you say he concentrates more on the level of the eyes, hence the glasses. Besides, the locals seem to know it but better not for the rest of the Japanese populace.

Saki actually has very good vision, the glasses are to stop the “demon powers” emanate from her “fiery blue eyes of darkness.” Now only Tomokazu, Chihaya, and Aya are exempt from effects of that evil force…:-)

Remember in one of the girl vs girl apnea boards we see Saki walk past 2 people who greet her without her greeting them in return, so either they didn't see them or she ignored them.

Saki did have thick glasses the first time we saw her on land. But it was a long time ago that we saw her in them. So I wonder did that get retcon?

I heard that shortsighted eyes can see clearly underwater, so I think you maybe setting Saki shortsighted for that.
