I believe this is deliberate for two reasons: one is the description, “marginally”, which leads me to think she’s still vaguely conscious, and two is the fact that we know the girls all have positive buoyancy even when passed out. Maybe she’s testing just how far she can float upward, in order to gauge the absolute maximum depth she can black out at and still self-recover? Regardless, this “training” appears quite reckless, and she’s face-down, so even if she does make it back up, she’ll probably need help to breathe again. Let’s hope Tomokazu is nearby!
