Hearing a voice, I looked up from my desk top. It was Oyodo. Worrying that the scare in my eyes might show, I quickly cleared my throat and replied calmly. "What is it?"
"Request permission for a search and destroy cruise around the bay, sir."
"What!?" I said. "That's nuts. The last time, you were ambushed and got multiple burns and fractures, and it's been only a few days if not less." It was apparent; bandages covered a good portion of her upper limbs and lean body, with blood still oozing from fresh wounds in some places. "Just look at you...."
"Sir." Oyodo interrupted, defiantly. "We're seeing activities just a few kilometers off shore now. If I don't go now, we'll all die."
"...." I paused. What she was proposing was expected, and also requisite, judging from her brief this morning. Maybe so, but why this powerlessness? All I can do is command these beautiful girls off to die?
"Sir, don't worry." Oyodo said. "If things go sour, I will set fire in my powder keg, when the Abyssals are all over me. That fireball should buy you some time." Oyodo smiled, showing her pearl white teeth.

I've already said my piece prior, so there is of course, no need to repeat myself. However, Oyodo, likewise presents similar feelings. It brings a curiosity to mind, as to what the Admiral did to spark such devotion to them? Perhaps it's a pure kindness and care for every girl, even in this time for war? Disregarding the notion of treating each as objects for the greater good, and instead as people with thoughts, feelings, and needs. Perhaps he bears an incorruptible nature, with even these devoted ship maidens, he lets not temptation strike him when he is vulnerable, and strives for an ultimate goal of a dream everyone shares, or perhaps it's something hidden within that these only these shipgirls may witness? I pray for their victory, for it is destined to be savory and sweet.
