Yeah it was, but then again Saki is a special case when it comes to free diving. Seeing how even if she swallowed water she would just do CPR on herself in the water. As mention in Miyako Diaries. So it can be hard to tell if that would have worked better as a training for the other girls. Who does have a lower skill level then Saki when it comes to breath holding

It could have been a good substitute, but at the time she clearly had air left on the trip up and had no problem beginning to breathe as soon as her head breached the surface. At that point, according to Tomokazu, it was all about static apnea.

Didn't Saki do something similar training wise around page 119-120? When she did train to see how long she could float upwards the surface with no air left

Iβm surprised sheβs capable of complex thought, much less keeping her head above water. That being said, if the girls want to improve (which is a given), how would they even train for this eventuality?
