Guangzhou Style
🕑 Added 2023-08-02 13:00:06 +0000 UTCDuring the past week I was in Guangzhou, China for work (FYI, this is a city a few dozen kilometers inland from Hong Kong or Macau). Although I know not many Japanese people like to travel to this much bigger western neighbor now, and obtaining the visit visa was a big pain, I nonetheless admit I really enjoyed the stay. The food was very good (important!) and there was this air of benign aggressiveness with its people, that I may choose to write about later on.
In the pic - "Lawson" is originally a Japanese convenience store chain which franchises in China, but it seems China people added a new promo character which is much prettier than our own. She is still Japan-esque, but looks a bit antique (like in our 00's style?). In all, I perceive it to be a very cute intercultural nod :-)

Yes, again, the food was nice, the restaurant would ask us to pick fish/crabs/clams from their water tank and then cook for us. And there were some spicy noodles plates, we were wondering if Guangzhou was close to Sichuan that they were prepared spicy. In all very pleasant experience :-)

As a Chinese, good to hear that you like the food and room in China.
