FMS Episode One 14
🕑 Added 2023-12-21 13:00:04 +0000 UTCPanicked, Chihaya slid her hands over her head and groped for the exit, only to feel her nails scratch against coarse wooden panels of the ceilng. Chihaya was now completely disoriented. Glup. Glup. No matter how she tried, she was unable to suppress the small air bubbles that her straind lungs ushered out of her lips.
(Drowning) (I'm drowning)
Then something grabbed Chihaya's shoulder.
(Chihaya)
It was Aya. Letting her short hair sway in the water, she looked anxiously at Chihaya's face.
(Can you swim back up?)
Aya moved her mouth, like she was speaking, and raised her index finger in front of Chihaya’s face. Chihaya, covering her mouth with her palm, and shook her head. She figured it was around 30 meters deep here. The water pressure was killing off much of her body’s buoyancy, and it would require sizable effort and to navigate herself out of the vessel and painstakingly swim up to the surface. Chihaya certainly couldn’t hold her breath long enough to meet that challenge.
Aya then pointed to a hallway leading from the mess room to the stern and drew the letters "3" and "0" with her fingertips.

It's pretty notable how much Chihaya has changed since this first dive - more confident, more composed, more in sync with Aya. She's always been determined, though, and that really adds to her charm :)

Oh Chihaya being scared and screaming underwater is not a good idea. But yeah I love how Aya signals that if she can last 30 more seconds she should be fine ^^
