Yeah so the car scene between Stiles and Malia was indeed the "breakup" scene. Jeff confirmed it but in my opinion it was a trash way to break them up. Basically, from what I've seen people speculate, the breakup was because they are fundamentally different(?) Malia didn't see anything wrong with what Stiles did and didn't understand why he was upset and he didn't like/appreciate that (?) I don't know, it's supposed to be a thing of internal conflict and moral differences but it was poorly done.

Plus the underlying severe anger issues he has so control is out of the window if he loses it. Thats why Scott has been stressing every full moon about control to Liam. Even if he felt fine during some full moons he still hurt himself to stop from turning. So now him thinking his gf is dead and all the manipulation that Theo did plus that Scott didn’t want to risk her weak body of dying quicker from the bite. He needed someone to blame and the supermoon just amplified everything the all he saw was black until Mason snapped him out of it.

No that’s wrong, Deaton literally told Scott that the only one who can absorb his powers is a beta of his own making which is Liam (Season 5 episode 2)

no one not even a True Alpha's beta can take his power. a True Alpha's alpha spark isnt stolen or pass down through blood they rise by their own virtue and inner power. its why they are so rare if one dies their power goes with them
