I made an 1 hour video guide about how I did the metals on the pre-heresy Death Guard. I used new color recipes to represent the dirty/grimy and corroded look.
The method is quite simple and fast, but it looks pretty good for the time invested I think.

At that point I am glazing over them with the same color. It might look like they get completely covered when it is still wet, but once it dries they will still be visible :) But they will be integrated into the surface and blend together better. :)

Awesome video! I think it is a great mix of talking and show-casing how to achieve the end result. I hope you do more videos in this format :) What is going on at 37:37 - are you covering the diagonal lines completely with the same paint or did I miss something?
