Yes, the rape caused her physical and psychological trauma. It was difficult for her to talk about it with White at first. When she to talk about the incident, White comforted her. Red didn't want anything to do with sex or pleasure. White respected that. As time went on, she trusted White more and felt safe. When she felt ready and they performed the act, she felt more comfortable. Of course they had difficulties in the beginning because Red had flashbacks and burst into tears but over time that also went away. It was important to White to understand Red's needs and triggers. White was patience and took things slow. For a ruler who otherwise had power over everything, he was very careful. I think without White, Red would still be scared but she learnd how to reconnect with her body. Both have learned over time how to communicate with each other during the act.

so that raises a somewhat nsfw question from me (if you’re comfortable answering of course), since this happened to red, i assume she has some awful trauma when it comes to this stuff, yeah? so.. how did her first time with white go? was he gentle and caring? did she have negative reactions and flashbacks? it just makes me so curious

Grey is an interesting character. It seems he has learned from his past mistakes and matured some since Red last saw him. The past can't be changed however, what's done is done and clearly it haunts him. I'm rather curious to see what his role will be in the story

It's an interesting part! I don't hate Gray, since it takes a lot to admit you were wrong and to feel guilt from your actions. Definitely feel for Red, though.

Red is an interesting character. Neglect, abuse, lack of self worth, yet she stills has a compassion for the very beings that shun and hurt her. =( Red is a great character.I also love that this hasn't negatively impacted her relationship with White. She claiming her man. :D You go Space Bean girl! She is awesome!
