🕑 Added 2016-08-02 22:50:13 +0000 UTC Hey guys - sorry for going dark for a short while, but we've got an exciting announcement that really expands the direction we're going to take with this project.It's been difficult to acheive, but we have a rough, buggy prototype now where a user can basically import his or her own lady into our spacebabe scene. We will begin with simple character changes, but this will eventually expand via what we are calling the (Virtual Sex Format) or .vsf file, to include tons more custom content (including audio, etc). Want to bang your ex, that hot girl at work, or that hot girl in a film you just saw? Your only limit is your imagination and the collective talent pool of the community. And you guys can create and trade girls like trading cards. It's currently quite difficult to built a vsf file and this feature isn't really DONE, but we're sharing the toolkit in what's very much a closed beta with other interested animators. If you like, in a little while you can apply for access, but don't be offended if we don't choose you.
Why are we doing this?
We want to give you guys maximum control, we don't want to expose ourselves to copyright bullies, we want to keep our project filesize under control, and we know a semi-open community can churn out content faster than a gated one. More girls the better.
What are some cool things we can do with .vsf files?
Someday, we imagine a lobby of all your chicks just begging for you to come over and enter a scene with them. A portal to various worlds in which you can set up various threesomes or whatever you want. But that's definitely in the far future.
In the nearer term you'll be able to find a girl wearing the outfit you want, maybe with tons of makeup or none at all, different outfits, elegant dresses or skintight suits, or even with bodymorphs like bigger tits, etc. Your girl will be served up as customized as your pizza, and you can put her in any of our voiced scenes. If you like, if you feel the dialogue doesn't fit or whatever, we're eventually going to give you the option to just cut to the good stuff.
How will releases work? Will this impact your scripted content?
We will still be releasing detailed, fully-voiced, fully animated scenes with a simple model that you can swap out. We expect some model swaps will work fantastically, others not as well for the swap, but that's something we can work on as we advance the project.
If all goes well our animators in closed beta will get early access to our scenebuilds, and will create characters that they envision fit the scene by the time you get your hands on each release.
Thanks guys. Hope you're as pumped as we are. In other news: Your generous donations have finally allowed us to buy some basic mocap equipment - which will be arriving soon as we work on Spacebabe. We have also made some progress on some basic Oculus Rift support as well, so those users aren't left out in the cold.

Sounds interesting. Please do consider the ability to adjust weights by bodypart. I saw another developer try generic skeletal movement that when applied to different body types got a sort of scarecrow effect.

To answer your questions...a user friendly oblivion style toolkit is in the far far future...right now creation is more for the technically inclined with existing modelling experience. One step at a time of course.
This sounds really cool. Will there be an editor? Will I need experience from 3d model editing?

Sounds great. How will the community create the girls to be imported? Daz3D would be the best/easiest option for the community, but seems problematic to import from there.
