This is probably the most difficult time I've had writing a script. In the end, I just renamed the video "The Two Sides of Studio MAPPA" because it was getting so difficult to form a consistent argument. MAPPA shows are great, but adapting to the overproduction crisis is burning out artists around the world.
This ended up being the most requested video on the channel, although I imagine most people requesting it weren't expecting me to come down so hard on the studio. That said, the reaction has been largely receptive, so I guess I've done my job.
The last three videos have all been viewer-requested, so I'm going to make like Maruyama, and have the next video on the channel be something I've been wanting to cover for a while. The next video on The Canipa Effect is: Pokemon Black and White Don't Need a Remake (They're Already Perfect) | Game Studio Spotlight

Rage of Bahamut is seriously good. I still reckon it has the best Episode 1 of anything

On a more serious note, Maruyama sounds like a cool old guy who deserves admiration for what he does particularly on his stance on creative freedom and I should check out Rage of Bahamut at some point.

In 2017, I watched Kakegurui, Inuyashiki and Altair (though I ended up dropping it after two episodes because I found it boring) within the same week or month. I didn't realize they were done by the same studio at the time (though I should have realized since the studio name comes up before the episode plays on Prime)-in hindsight, I was having a MAPPA-thon
