Oh you're right!!! I completely forgot about that conversation in episode one and now that I think about it, Tokiomi would've had a MASSIVE advantage if he actually would've agreed to help him right?

note on Daddy Tohsaka. From the first episode, before the war began, the Overseer and Toliomi called in KIrea Kotomine, and told him their plan to have Tokiomi train him as a mage so that they would have two mages in the war fighting together. Also of note there are two Tohsaka daugters, Rin and Sakura. Rin was the more magically gifted of the two, and since mage families only train ONE child as a mage, Sakura was sent to the Matou's since they are "unable to produce more mages" for reasons both explained and unexplained as the series goes on.
