What's next on the agenda?

First of all, a warm welcome to all newcomers!
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to each of you. Your support is the reason Companion of Darkness even exists, and with your help, I'm able to make it bigger and better with every update.
I’m excited to announce that Chapter 9 has been released! As far as I can tell, there are no game-breaking bugs, which means I can now focus on the next steps.
Here’s what’s on the agenda:
Grammar Fixes and Proofreading: It's no secret that English isn't my strongest suit, at least not enough to ensure a smooth and error-free reading experience. However, many of you have been incredibly helpful, offering pages of suggestions for improvement. I’ll be working through them to polish the game.
Transferring Memory States and Decisions to a New App: Companion of Darkness has grown beyond what I initially imagined—an amazing problem to have! However, this growth brings new challenges. Chapter 10 will be released as a separate application, as the current setup won’t support it otherwise. I’m working on a solution to transfer saves and decisions from Chapters 1-9 to Chapter 10. Thankfully, I have some skilled friends who are helping me with this because, honestly, coding isn’t my strong point.
Creating a Rough Script for Chapter 10: I already have the story for Chapter 10 outlined in my head and in notes, but it still needs to take a more concrete form. This is a normal part of my creative process.
I aim to complete these tasks before the public release so I can start working on the playable teaser right away. But we'll take it one step at a time.

In hindsight, definitely, but changing that now would be unnecessary extra work. I'd rather invest the time in Chapter 10. Besides, Chapter 9 isn't the start of Act 3 but an interlude, so I think it fits.

Loved the new chapter! Also, doesn't it make more sense to release chapter 9 and onwards as a seperate application. Act 2 ended with chapter 8 so it makes more sense to have an act 1 + 2 download and a 3+ download.

Thanks for this new chapter, Noel keeps getting more and more beautiful ❤️. Don't wear yourself out chugging update after update. I hope you're also taking some well deserved breaks from time to time 🙂
