Plans for next build and poll follow ups

So I think we're in a pretty ok stable place in terms of major code changes. It took a while to get a lot of the prototype code upgraded to handle the addition of new dungeons, new bosses and new characters but most of that seems to be functional now. It's a good feeling to get to this point and I think I should be able to focus on adding more content for chapter two and expanding on the story for the next build.
Monster sex poll follow up
It's been a while but I also wanted to do a follow up to the monster sex poll from a few months back. The large majority of you seem to be ok with the monsters focusing on Hero when it comes to the naughty business. Of course it would be nice if the other party members get some action too but what this comes down to is it just takes a lot of time to animate that stuff. Even with reusing animations, each character has unique attachments that must be animated and adjusted. So for now I think it's best to focus my attention on animations for Hero. I'll still try to include the other characters for boss scenes but again it can take up a lot of time to create those scenes.
The other factor is I would have to create a way to make the scenes more modular which is entirely possible but it needs more dev time. For example the specialized scene I made for Ash and Hero and the slime, well that scene can only be used when those three characters are present. Since I added a new party member, that character is not even controlled by those old scenes yet and they need to be updated. So should I just have a few standard reaction scenes that the other characters can randomly play in parallel? I'm not sure yet, my current system of creating these scenes really isn't cut out for large numbers of characters.
Animation Viewer poll follow up
Majority of people would rather I focus on integrating the animation viewer into the game, making the scenes that are available be unlockable after finding them in game. Sounds fair and seems pretty straight forward. I'm not sure when I would want to tackle this but I'll put some time into figuring out how it will all work and see how long it will take before setting any priority for it.
Some people mentioned adding a cheat code for unlocking them but would the temptation be too much to go and spoil everything? Of course there will always be other ways to spoil it but for the people who want that sense of reward from finding stuff in the game well I want them to be able to have that experience if I can.
Buddy #2 Scene
Slowly formulating an idea for this scene although the setup for it might be kind of complex. For a while I've been trying to figure out his personality but I think he will be into geeky stuff with Hero. Maybe he will talk about monster trivia and comic books, the world is meant to be a bit anachronistic. He needs a name too, we have some suggestions for his name but will take more if you got them, before I put up a poll.
Hero always ready to lend a helping hand or mouth...

Thanks for sharing all the details. Personally I think for now the standard reaction scenes would be fine if it helps keep the workload manageable. Itβs already a really ambitious and really good game so far, so I say do whatever you need to do to not get burnt out π
