Finally, finally, finally, finally, finally......
🕑 Added 2020-12-23 19:04:39 +0000 UTCVXGI...I finally could achieve first results...this lib from NVidia was most complicated and undocumented for me...There is still lot of questions, flaws and just weird things, but I'm very happy that I could force it to work. Right now it does not respect directional lighting - need additional coding for both sides shaders and hook, but...just....finally, last 3 month I tried make this thing works, everything was fine, except irradiance, this one just not worked no matter what I did, and finally...almost crying XD
First picture with VXGI on, and second one with VXGI off. And there is a few pictures more:

VXGI realtime global illumination and heavy enough to eat some performance, moreover I found that my PC is real potato-PC, I'm still using memory, as I found, XD, DDR3 with 660 MHz - just shoot me in the face....there is a lot of work with VXGI still should be done, some experimenting, defining customizable parameters and so on, but perhaps I need update my PC, finally, reinstalling all this SDK's scare me a lot, so maybe it will take some time.
Anyway, Happy New Year for everyone who will see this, I wish you goodluck and success in new year!

Yeah, I wonder this too. I subbed recently.

Are you still sending codes? I've been subbed for 2 months now.
Looks fantastic. Well done!
If you *can*, I'd recommend grabbing a 3070 for that kind of budget - theoretically cheaper and a better performer in general. But... that's if you can find one, let alone find one at MSRP right now.

It looks like I know little about cards, but luckily I didn't buy it yet. I'll get the 2080 for now and upgrade next fall passed that one.
Wow, that's really nice! Merry Christmas !
PCIE4 is here but even the 3090 doesn't really saturate the bandwidth of PCIE3 - it's far more important for PCIE SSD's. It might be some ok future proofing though but only a modest set of mobos have it right now and it's not supported on current intel IIRC. It's not likely a big deal to wait for DDR5 either because the extra performance right now is not really being seen as worth the extra mem speed. E.g., intel is really not very dependent on mem speed and while AMD is, due to their architecture, it's not worth going past either 3200 or 3600 (can't recall 100%) as the timings get screwed up and you might even lose performance in the timing overheads. RTX or 6000 series card is definitely worth getting though... but if ray-tracing is more key, then RTX is superior right now; though the tech is still arguably not worth the 30-50% frame rate hit. That said, this game might be an exception lol With the competition from AMD, it's a great time for hardware consumers... well, except for the plague :P
Careful... a 1660Ti is not generally an upgrade to a 1080 (https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1660-Ti-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1080/4037vs3603). Also, for GI (global illumination), while it can be done in software, you probably want a card with built-in ray-tracing cores... e.g. the RTX series or AMD 6000 series. Now, they're impossible to get right now but that's beside the point lol. Hopefully you can still return the 1660...? Also, AMD's most recent CPU entries generally beats intel (but you'd have to check performance/dollar at this point). AMD does still lack some instruction sets for certain programming efforts so... keep that in mind (more to pervko I guess). Also, Nvidia's features are more developed, as I'm sure you're aware.

Sounds good, I just ordered a gtx 1660. I'm currently running a gtx 1080 and I think I should go from an i5 to an i7 myself too. You're hooks are getting too good and my pc need to keep up XD
In my case - any new will be good XD, i7/i9 and correspond motherboard, memory and so on I'm think

Awesome! Can't wait to see its potential, so what specs are you looking into when it comes to upgrading your PC?
Looks fantastic!!❤️

it's not 660 Mhz, it's 660x2=1333Mhz. DDR5 is coming soon+PCI Expres 4+Rtx card, wait a little. If you upgrade with used/older parts then it's ok, no need to wait.

This is cool.
