thanks for the info. right, the tags are less organized.

Alan Ciampaglia

Thank you so much @ephtracy. Just a heads up: you're not tagging the posts accordingly, when I filter them by "MagicaCSG" I don't see this one for example. At first I thought 0.1.0 was the newest because of that.

hi, I'll consider some options for public usage.

ephtracy

Hi, there will be a new update next week. many things happened last month...

Immortal Turk

I've seen this asked often (and wondered it myself.) I think the answer on composite group strokes is that it would be too complicated to calculate? This program doesn't use standard modelling with polygons.

Immortal Turk

Apologies for my impatience here. Is there a chance we'll be seeing more updates soon? It's been quite a bit since this was shown, and I'm eager for the new density controls (or whatever else may be revealed.)

I'm just browse through shortcut file and found the short key to save camera (7) and load camera(8) (not numpad) and you have 10 camera slot changing with numpad(0-9) but if we have some ui to manage that would be better

Another question. i see the old 0.1.0 version is not available to the general public anymore. Do you plan to offer it for free in the future? I ask because i was thinking to teach some beginners to model with it and make some small contest to encourage them to use it. But now I see that the old one is gone from the website. And Blender is a bit overwhelming.

Hi. Is there a technical possibility to do: - combine the strokes into a group and use this group (folder) as a trim mask for other stroke and strokes group. - assign a stroke as a plane of symmetry for another strokes(strokes group) in the same object. - assign a stroke as a point of the object coordinate system. - combining objects into groups.

Vlad Butucariu

Can we have some option to lock the camera so that we can modify the objects and render different instances? A batch render would be cool to have for Game designers. If I want to render 10 swords with slightly different variations of color or shape would be life saving and this will get adopted like crazy. One idea I had was to have at the rendering UI tab some fields on objects that we can set as variable, for example to randomise them for 10 renderings in a row. This was maybe somehow already done with the 360 export feature, but this time is fixed the camera, and only the object changes. I would kill for something like this :)

Metin Seven

Loving the latest updates. A few suggestions: ● Double-click on an object in the list to select all of its strokes. ● Material instancing between objects, like the auto-instancing when you duplicate an object, then optionally make a material unique.

ephtracy

what are the other rendering modes?

Marzia

I noticed there is only PBR rendering now, will you add back other rendering modes in the future?

ephtracy

currently, there is some issues with integrated graphics card.

One more question: Does anyone know if MagicaCSG will work on a Surface Pro 9?

Mike Clifton

I know I can drag and drop strokes into the workspace. But then they want to snap to align to other objects, which is also not what I want. Is there an easy way to add a new stroke with a default transform, unscaled, unrotated?

Mike Clifton

How do you add a new stroke with an identity transform? I've always had trouble adding new strokes at the origin and with default scale and rotation. See this screen recording: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FEXOlhFRpo

Letter wraps would be a nice feature towards the final product!

А М

Hi, it would be great if letters and numbers could be added, do you plan to add them?

ephtracy

hi, will do.

yukari kazuo

hello there! is there any plan on exposing some tonemapping options? found it hard to get same color between color palette and viewport

Eric Mack

Hell yeah

ephtracy

the exported mesh often contains lots of vertices. merging them together may produce GBs of files

cg S

It looks beautiful. Is there a way to export PLY shapes merged together? I currently have the objects on separate layers to keep objects manageable. But on export it would be nice to be able to have an option to lump the entire project together as one mesh. I do miss the turntable rendering feature.

Mark Linington

Wow this is awesome!, can’t wait to try this. Wonderful work as always 🙏❤️

Rezistor

Yasss! that's will be so good for smoke and other vfx stuff!
