Bonus videos! The clever tricks hidden in the Little Shop end-of-the-world finale
🕑 Added 2024-08-18 04:00:04 +0000 UTCHello there!
For this week's bonus video, we're taking a closer look at the gorgeous (and seldom-seen) original ending of Little Shop of Horrors -- including some especially crafty techniques that turned a slow-moving four-foot robot into a 120-foot-tall monster. We've got overcranked cameras, 3D printing, a puppet in disguise, and my favorite little magic trick of all: magnets!
Also, graveyard turkeys.

Zardogs! Zardogs!
I've loved Little Shop since it came out and didn't know it had an alternative ending until I heard it from you. It's incredible, but I think you're right that it just doesn't match the rest of the movie. I'm glad we can still see it since this stuff is so often lost.

Oh that's a great idea. I haven't touched on Disco much -- though I did write a piece about Sylvester a few years ago: https://www.them.us/story/sylvester-you-make-me-feel-remaster

I rewatched the Paul Lynde video and now I would love to hear you discuss two topics: Liberace and disco being popular with the gay people and the reactionary disco sucks movement!
