Fired Up Had the Best Gay Character on Must See TV

Though it didn’t even get a chance to finish out its second season, Fired Up was one of the rare Must See TV sitcoms to feature two female leads. What’s more, the recurring gay character, Shannon (played by Mark Davis) is unusual in that he’s out, confident and going about his life in a way you just didn’t see on other NBC shows of this era. What’s even odder is that his traditionally masculine dad (Jonathan Banks) loves his son and supports his career as a drag performer. Can we thank Arleen Sorkin for this?

Re: king of queens. I never seen the show but recently scrolled by a clip of an halloween episode titled “Ticker Treat" that seems to feature a boy who was feared to be gay because he wanted to dress up like a power puff girl.

Only vaguely remember the show, but I wanted to express my gratitude for this episode of *your* show. Things are understandably rough everywhere and few people are doing well. Me included. This provided some much needed levity and laughs, it brought a smile to my face more than once and brought me out of a funk I've been feeling. Thank you Drew and Glen!

I vaguely remember king of queens and it handling everything horribly and there maybe being something about the brother and his roommate? It was more a show that was one places I was and not one I watched so could be way wrong

The line from the dad "He's not happy and I want him to be" nearly made me tear up. Would've loved to have heard my dad say that to me when I was struggling to express myself.
