I am back after my adventures! This month felt like a swirl of color, delicious scents, andโฆ rocks trying to eat me alive. (More on that in a sec.)
Iโve been trying to do more things that arent just for profit or purpose, so more painting with brush in hand, flavors on the stove, my wobbly feet on the trail. I added more color to my painting, nothing grand but enough to feel the shift and gods I love watching the colors flow on the page. I notice I dont paint for the final picture, I paint for how good it feels in the moment. It kind of scares me on how the painting will turn out by the end, (I dont always love it.) but I always enjoy the process of getting there lol.
I also made a batch of onion/garlic confit with thyme and rosemary. I split the garlic and onions from the oil, froze them into cubes, and saved the yummy golden oil for later dishes. We got to try some recently and it was SOSOOSOS GOOD!
And then there was the mountain.
I went walking on the trails and took a bunch of pictures, which sounds very majestic, until I climbed up on a short rock and realized my depth perception is absolute garbage. Its always been bad but DAMN, I got myself stuck on a rock because the whole landscape flattened out into one confusing image and that's when I get dizzy lol. Truly trapped like a bewildered cat in a tree. 10/10 humbling, 0/10 grace, lol. Jon had to show me where to put my feet bc I literally couldn't tell!
So yeah, color, flavor, clumsy wilderness. Thatโs where Iโve been having a blast, lol.

Oh wow, that sounds beautiful! And yeah, getting back into nature has done wonders for my mental health. Now I live in an area where it isn't obliterating heat waves for 80% of the year, I'm even out in August up here! I get to see the freakin' leaves before they fall off and die, I've never been happier. So happy you are finding peace in such a chaotic world, hope you have a wonderful month hon~!

Walking in the woods behind my house. 30 acres of trails spread out over my land, a neighbors land, and then a national park area. Just wandering with the dogs. Once a week or so, just to remind myself that grass and sunshine and trees are real, not pixelated.
