thorfinns been saying hello to the retainers everytime they come around since beginning of s2, he didnt just randomly start now. (You miss them easy in sub because they're quick and quiet, you notice it more in dub) Seems its a "requirement" to formally greet them (as you can see the retainer got mad at einar for not saying hello when thorfinn did) so as thorfinn has been doing he "humiliates" himself by heeding to whatever the retainers say, as we've seen before with him not reporting them.
