Tbh I'm just impatient and want to see them react to the movie asap

How are people say movie first? For obvious reasons the first episode has to be first!!! SPOILERS!!!! For emotional connection guy!

Toidleboy

movie first is the way it should be done, im honestly surprised of the vote total currently, is not nearly as good to watch things in chronological order when it was made for a reason after the movie

Natalya Petrosian

movie first. when it came out, it was in that order intentionally

SlippinGymy

Completely different with whats going on here

Zim521 Westry

Just watch 2x1 then the movie its the right order nd then start 2x8

Artemipsyche

Definitely movie first! It was also released in that order. At the end of the day it doesn’t really matter, but I think the first episode calls back to the movie in an intentional way.

One more comment! It’s like with jjk. Jjk 0 was published as a one shot before the actual jjk series. If they watched it in chronological order of events which was jjk 0 >> s1 >> s2, then season 2 would NOT hit the same. You wouldn’t have cared about the characters as much (like seeing todo’s entrance in the movie) and missed out on some emotional impact 🤌🏻 (but also technically I guess this one isn’t THAT big of a deal, I just care 🥺)

most watched the movie first then ep 1 i think its good that way but i dont mind, but if you guys do watch the ep first then movie please upload both at the same time😓

Bibi

Beautifully stated!!!

Objectively it doesn't matter too much, I think it comes down to personal preference. In terms of chronological progress of events then ep 1 comes before the movie. It gives the movie a deserved prequel, it prepares the viewer to the events that are about to unfold. It gives who's watching a slight insight on some things and just overall time to sit with them which some people found lacking when they first watched the movie. In terms of emotional impact we can't argue that ep 1 feels different after the movie. When watched later, ep 1 feels like a flashback and flashbacks naturally generate an emotional response from the viewer, especially when tied to specific events of the story that the viewer already experienced. There are people who, at the time of the episode's release, wished they saw the contents of the episode before the movie and others who were happy with having it after, hence the split recommendations. Both points are valid in my opinion and there's no objectively correct order, it truly comes down to how people personally enjoy experiencing this segment of the story. (I hope I haven't said too much, someone please warn me if I did)

How about watching the first episode then watching the movie in one sitting? makes sense to me if its in one

Niccoapp

Personally it hit more to watch the movie first before the first episode, but Im fine either way. It all just depends one if you wanna watch it like how it was intended (episode first) or watch it in release order (Movie first).
